Understanding the Infinite Catalog

If you've visited our webstore, you might've noticed something different: there's no traditional, searchable catalog of probes.

That's not a bug – it's a feature.

We don't offer a static, scrollable, publicly-viewable (but not validated) catalog of pre-designed HCR™ HiFi Probes. Instead, we've built something better: a real-time, intelligent search engine that taps directly into NCBI's transcriptome database. We call it the Infinite Catalog.

What Makes it "Infinite"?

Unlike conventional probe catalogs, the Infinite Catalog doesn't rely on a static list of previously manufactured probes. Instead, as you type in the name of your target gene, our system:

  • Instantly references the NCBI transcriptome database
  • Autopopulates matching targets in the dropdown with intelligent, user-friendly suggestions, including nicknames
  • Automatically pulls in the corresponding RNA sequence – no copy-pasting needed

This means you're not limited to what's been made before. You're searching across the entire known transcriptome of that organism – live. This is a major benefit for users that's only possible because we've never charged fees just for custom design thanks to our advanced design algorithms.

What if I Don't See My Target (or Organism)?

No problem!

  • If your target doesn't show up, it may be novel or just not indexed yet in NCBI's annotated databases. You can still order by entering the target name and pasting in the RNA sequence.
  • If your organism isn't listed in the dropdown, just enter everything in free-form: organism, target, and sequence.

We'll take it from there.

Benefits at a Glance
  • No guesswork – Just type and select your target
  • Real-time accuracy – Powered by up-to-date annotated NCBI databases
  • Custom-target friendly – Works with sequences outside the database
  • Simple & fast – No scrolling through endless probe lists
